Tomorrow i will be 13 weeks pregnant when exactly will i be in my second trimester? And is it normal that the doctor doesn't hear the baby's heartbeat through a fetal doppler yet(on the ultrasound they could though) because he said that he's concerned and with my first baby i heard the heart at 9 weeks exactly.Most say that 13 weeks is the start of the 2nd trimester.One book I have says that 13 weeks is the start of the 2nd trI'mester and something else I have says that 12w1d is the start of the 2nd trimester, so im not really sure. I'm 13w4d so I guess I'm for sure in my 2nd trimester now. Congrats!!The second trimester technically starts at 13 weeks, 2 days (since a full pregnancy term is 40 weeks, each trimester is 1/3 of that).
If you are seeing a heartbeat on ultrasound, I wouldn't worry that you can't hear it yet.I was told that the second trimester is around 14.5 weeks. Also with regards to the fetal doppler, my baby's heartbeat was heard for the first time at 18 weeks even tho it was there on ultrasound and there was plent of movement then I had no need to worry. x13 weeks is second trimester. If the baby wasnt in a good position it is still hard to hear heart beat on doppler.
